One thing that sets Fish Family Dentistry apart from other dental practices in town is our commitment to the environment. We're proud to offer a healthier, safer setting for you to receive your dental work. And the steps we take to reduce our impact on the environment also happens to lower our costs. Because we're green, you're able to save some green!
With digital x-rays you're exposed to 90% less radiation compared to normal x-ray machines. And when it comes to the removal of your mercury fillings, we take careful precautions to collect the mercury prior to it entering the sewer system. This minimizes aerosols and prevents further pollution of our local waterways.
Overexposure to fluoride can be detrimental to your health! We are happy to discuss this with each patient, but most of our healthy-mouth cleanings are done without the use of any fluoride containing products.
A typical trip to the dentist can generate a lot of waste! We make every effort to use quality products by conserving resources and using products from recycled materials when possible that not only keep every person safe but will also be kind to the earth.
When possible, our office uses a Hypochlorous Acid fogger instead of other harmful chemicals to keep things clean. This electrolyzed water, made daily in our office, is 80-100 times more efficacious than bleach, yet is what our white blood cells naturally make so is completely safe.
Our water recycling system, the hydroMiser, reduces our water usage by 75%. Yes, you read that number right! It allows us to consistently obtain the highest performance while using significantly less water. We also use a Waterwise distiller to assure our water is consistently pure.
Our office uses electronic fluorescent lighting to help conserve electricity and improve quality of light, which is especially helpful for cosmetic dentistry procedures. Our smart thermostats considerably reduce our energy consumption while still keeping everyone comfortable.
Please bring your used toothbrushes and any other oral hygiene product packaging by our office when you are done with it! Lots of these products are made out of #4 and #5 plastics that the city of Fayetteville recycling program is unable to accept. We gladly collect these items and make sure they get recycled in partnership with Tom's of Maine and Terracycle. Feel free to swing by anytime or just bring these items with you to your next appointment!
